The scene where Michael’s son is playing the song Brucia la Terra (Burns the Earth) it moves me so deeply and notably the words: my soul cries painfully, my earth is burning, my heart is burning. I’ve got the same effect, then i see my life scenes. The priests said on the retreat that the weep is needed the same as a laughter & joy. The weeping purifies the aching soul giving a strength in Christ. There are moments where I’m pretty thoughtful, so I wear a dark glasses but it is not a cry of despair only a soothing moment. The life takes what’s dear along the years. The bitter second is also precious to me. We usually value to pass the heavier moments with dignity but it’s not always possible. After, I feel better, then take off sunglasses, so it’s a deep breath and relief. I am stronger. Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning (Psalm 30:5).
